21st September 2003
Many thanks for all your support!
What a day, Sunday's Great North Run was fantastic, the atmosphere was amazing.
I was really nervous in the morning as I'd never done anything like this before but after scoffing a big bowl of Shreddies I was ready for the big race.
I've never done any marathons before but this will definitely not be my last. I managed to run the 13.1 miles in 1 hour 42 mins, all the training certainly paid off and I'm really happy with my race time. (Not quite as good as Paula Radcliffe's 1 hour 5 mins - unbelieveable).
Thanks to everyone who sponsored me, I managed to make 500 for Cancer Research UK. I'm going to carry on training and tackle the London Marathon in 2005 (Watch this Space!)
Thanks again everyone, see the photos below.
