Gen’dai Karate Club of Lymm went to France last weekend to meet the Karate Club Saint Clement (KCSC) and the Karate Club of Sens (SAM) near Paris.
During those two days, Dave Shipton and Kevin Maher instructors of Gen’dai Karate Club and Emmanuel Dupuis participated in training sessions with Gilles Venet 6th dan, Jean Pierre Lavorato 8th dan and Master Shirai.
Gen’dai is a Shotokan Karate Club based in Lymm Youth Centre. They train adults and children twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday to Karate-do Shotokan martial art.

The purpose of this international “twinning” was to build a long-term relationship in order to organise exchanges with Karate Club Saint Clement. The ambitious project is to bring teenagers and children of both clubs to meet each other and share their passion for karate.
A plaque has been given to the mayor of Saint Clement to makethis relationship official and the French Karate Club has been invited to come to Lymm next year for a similar event.
